The readings take us through the story of God’s plan. There are 4 themes to cover each week of December.
It all starts with In the Beginning, encouraging us to take a step back and look at the big picture.Then we marvel at the fact of God becoming man in the Kaleidoscope Effect of the Incarnation.The third week continues this theme. Seeing the mess that men and women have got themselves into, God Steps Into History and uses two ordinary people to fulfil His plans.
There is only one response to all of this, which is to Celebrate. The psalmist (Ps.100: 4) tells us to:
“Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise.”
In other words celebrate!
God is good, is overwhelmingly generous and He will be loyal to you forever. What’s not to celebrate? So Celebrate takes us through the build up to the birthday itself and on to the end of December.
The shepherds trusted the angel’s words and without hesitation came to Him. The wise men read God’s word, bowed down in worship, offered their gifts and obeyed God rather than man. All showed they were ready for Christmas. Are you?
