4. The Hidden 3D Image

Have you ever looked at one of those hidden 3D images?

To the untrained eye they look at first like a flat mass of colour, pieces of modern art that don’t seem to make a lot of sense. But once you’ve learned how to look into the image you get the ‘wow’ factor. The person next to you can’t see anything. On the surface all they see is colour and confusion, tones and turmoil.  Once you learn to look beyond what seems like a meaningless, repetitive landscape, a new world opens up before you.   Beautiful figures appear, a butterfly or the earth with planets around it. What has seemed to be senseless, chaotic and repetitive becomes a world with meaning, order and purpose. Wonderful colours and a peek into another dimension you didn’t know was there before you learned how to look. When you learn to see, a world that is beyond your imagination opens up.

The Bible reminds us that we can see God in the here and now:

“Open your eyes and there it is! By taking a long and thoughtful look at what God has created, people have always been able to see what their eyes as such can’t see…” Romans 1.20 MSG

Have a read of this poem. It tells us that God is often showing us how near he is and, faith, trust are the lenses that help us see through the dark glass:

The man whispered, "God, speak to me"
And a meadowlark sang.
But the man did not hear.

So the man yelled, "God, speak to me"
And the thunder rolled across the sky.
But the man did not listen. The man looked around and said,

"God let me see you."
And a star shined brightly.
But the man did not see.

And the man shouted, "God show me a miracle." And a life was born.
But the man did not notice.

So, the man cried out in despair, "Touch me God, and let me know you are here."
Whereupon, God reached down and touched the man.
But the man brushed the butterfly away and walked on.

Don't miss out on a blessing because it isn't packaged the way that you expect.  Unknown

Eyes of faith allow us to see God’s fingerprint even within the limits of human understanding. God shows us things all the time but our eyes don’t always see properly.

Next Week: Can You Now See Beyond the Dark Glass

Here's a link to a 3D picture if you want to give it a try: http://www.anopticalillusion.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/07/big-ears.jpg

Look into the centre of the picture. Then focus beyond it and the hidden image (an Elephant) will appear.
